Contra Costa County School Based Services
The Contra Costa School-Based Services (SBS) program provides mental health services designed to help youth improve school outcomes, reduce the need for higher levels of care, and strengthen social and family relationships. Our School-Based Services support is provided through the John Muir Program. In addition, we collaborate with John Muir’s Beyond Violence Program, offering a community-based role that supports Transition-Age Youth (TAY) throughout Central and East Contra Costa County..

Fred Finch staff become part of the school site environment to provide school-wide support to students, offering consultation on mental health matters to school personnel and collaborating closely with teachers and administrators. Services are culturally sensitive and trauma-informed, tailored to reflect the goals of each participant.
