Our Interim CEO Laura McClarin was recently featured on Good Business San Diego to discuss Fred Finch’s 130+ year legacy of serving children, youth, and families across California.
“By partnering with communities, counties, schools, and healthcare organizations, we’re able to expand programs that truly benefit children, youth, and families because that is so core to our mission.” — Laura McClarin
During the interview, Laura shared how Fred Finch has evolved from its beginnings as an Oakland orphanage in 1891 into a leading nonprofit organization providing culturally responsive mental health, behavioral health, education, housing, and supportive services throughout Northern and Southern California.
The conversation also highlighted Fred Finch’s growing impact in San Diego County through programs including residential treatment, school-based mental health services, wraparound care, and partnerships with organizations such as Kaiser Permanente.
Laura also discussed the upcoming 11th Annual Fred Finch Charity Golf Tournament, taking place June 5 at Rancho Bernardo Inn, which helps raise critical funds to support children and families receiving Fred Finch services.
