Training Description
The Dual Process Model of Coping is an evidence-based tool that offers insight into why adapting to significant loss feels destabilizing as we process unwanted changes. This training will increase the effectiveness of your support strategies with system-involved youth and families by explaining how knowledge of the Dual Process Model of Coping enables you to select supportive techniques that align with grieving patterns for non-death as well as death losses. Participants will be informed through presenter instruction, a slide presentation, a learning activity, and explanation of supportive techniques. To increase participant engagement and content retention, the presenter will also utilize the chat box, reaction emojis, guided participant discussion, and Questions & Response.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
● Be able to identify and explain 1 grief model that helps normalize grief processing.
