Given the patterns of trauma that system-involved youth (SIY) experience, it is crucial for those who support them to have a comprehensive understanding of trauma. Understanding the areas of a SIY’s life that may be impacted by trauma is important to consider for care and support planning. Trauma surviving SIY can be triggered because of the trauma they have suffered and understanding this is key to providing them compassionate and effective support.
