Training Description
Given the amount of trauma system-involved youth have experienced, it’s crucial for those who support system-involved youth to understand the impacts of trauma. This training will provide an overview of the different types of trauma and stress related disruptions which system-involved youth and young adults may experience. This training will help participants be able to identify what type of trauma and stressor disruption individuals are experiencing and how to support them.
Learning Objectives
· Participants will be able to identify at least 1 type of trauma and stressor disruption.
· Participants will be able to identify at least 1 strategy to support someone experiencing trauma symptoms.
· Participants will be able to identify at least 1 strategy to support someone with an adjustment problem.

Meet Our Trainer
Nicole Kelly is a clinical psychologist who has worked with trauma survivors for 14 years. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited youth, vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and provides guest lectures at local universities on human trafficking.
Kaitlyn is a licensed clinical psychologist and has worked with youth and young adults from a variety of backgrounds. She currently provides short-term and trauma-informed therapy to young adults and adults struggling with trauma, sexual well-being, depression, anxiety, adjustment to college, interpersonal relationships, and identity development.
This course meets the qualifications for (3.75) BBS CE hours for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
