Training Description
This training provides an overview of the mental health needs of foster and system-involved youth, with a focus on understanding service systems, levels of care, and available resources. Participants will engage in interactive learning through case examples, group discussion, and skill-building activities grounded in trauma-informed and youth-centered practices. The training emphasizes practical strategies for navigating referrals, addressing access barriers, and collaborating across systems. Attending this training equips participants with the knowledge and tools needed to more effectively support the well-being of foster and system-involved youth.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Identify at least four of the mental health service system and common mental health needs and challenges experienced by system-involved youth.
