Training Description
With a growing awareness of relational wounds system-involved youth and young adults experience, it’s important to consider one’s attachment. Understanding attachment helps service and support providers better conceptualize youth and develop plans of support accordingly. This training will provide an overview of attachment styles and how they can impact system-involved youth and young adults throughout their lifetime. The training will also highlight ways to foster a healthy attachment style with system-involved youth and young adults.
Learning Objectives
· Participants will be able to explain the relationship between trauma and insecure attachment to system-involved youth and young adults they support.
· Participants will be able to identify at least one characteristic of an anxious-preoccupied attachment style of system-involved youth and young adults.
