Training Description

This 6-hour training equips participants with a comprehensive understanding of depression in system-involved youth and effective strategies for support. It covers key topics including defining depression, risk factors, impact on behavior, and barriers to seeking help. Participants will learn about effective communication, supportive strategies, and collaboration with others who serve and support system-involved youth and families. The training also emphasizes the importance of actively preventing and managing vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue, engaging family members, and using evidence-based practices to develop individualized support plans.


Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

·      Identify and explain 3 symptoms of depression.
