Training Description

Many system involved youth are affected by addiction on some level of their lives. It is important to gain an understanding of how addiction develops and what some of the contributing factors are that affect system involved youth in order to most effectively support them toward improved outcomes. This course will take a look at how addiction develops, the effects of insecure attachment, and how a substitute relationship can be formed. We will also examine a new whole process model for preventing or reducing addiction and/or its negative impacts on system involved youth.

Learning Objectives

● Participants will learn about the factors that contribute to the development of troublesome use and addiction in system involved youth.

● Participants will learn how attachment plays a part in the development of troublesome use and addiction in system involved youth.
