Training Description
This training equips caregivers and service and support providers of system-involved youth with trauma-informed strategies when supporting youth impacted by gang involvement. Participants will learn how trauma and systemic adversity shape behavior and identity while gaining tools to foster safety, trust, and healing-centered engagement, through trauma informed principles. This training emphasizes resilience, empowerment and responsive care for system-involved youth impacted by gang involvement.
Learning Objectives
Identify two ways in which trauma and community violence influence gang affiliation among system-involved youth.
Explain at least three of the adverse childhood experiences (ACES), attachment disruptions and complex trauma shape behavior, trust and coping responses of system-involved youth.
