Training Description
This training will offer a comprehensive overview of trauma-informed care and its core principles. Participants will explore the practical application of this framework as well as how to integrate cultural responsiveness to this approach, specifically for working with system-involved youth and families within the Latine community. The Latine community often experiences unique traumatic stressors, such as immigration trauma, systemic discrimination, sociopolitical instability in their country of origin, etc., therefore, making the importance of being a trauma informed provider essential. Through this framework, providers will learn to approach Latine youth and families in a manner that is culturally responsive, reduces revictimization of trauma, and promotes long-term healing.
