**Participants must attend both days**
“The Empowerment Project” is a CSE intervention curriculum. It consists of 4 workbooks with 5 chapters in each workbook. The curriculum is based on the Stages of Change model where the earlier workbooks are focused on helping youth edit exploitation while the later workbooks are focused on adjusting to life outside of the commercial sex industry. Throughout the workbooks, youth will hear from CSE survivors and what they learned on their journey. The two-day facilitator training will teach participants how to facilitate the curriculum with youth and young adults. This is a two-day training. CSEC 101 and 102 are prerequisites.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to describe topics to dicuss with girls in commercial sexual exploitation.
- Participants will be able to describe “The Empowerment Project.”
- Participants will be able to facilitate the workbooks with girls in commercial sexual exploitation.
- Participants will be able to clarify their professional role in order to facilitate “The Empowerment Project” within the boundaries of their profession.
- Participants will be able to identify needs of youth involvement in the commercial sex industry, those who are in the process of exiting the industry, and those who have exited.
- Participants will be able to create a safety plan with girls in the commercial sex industry.
- Participants will be able to apply the Stages of Change model.

Meet Our Trainers
Nicole Klasey is a clinical psychologist with 16 years of working with system-involved youth. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC), vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and is an adjunct professor for undergraduate and graduate courses.
Nola Brantley, CEO & Founder of Nola Brantley Speaks has become nationally recognized as a powerful Survivor voice for the issue of child sex trafficking through her moving and information packed public speaking. Her hard work and perpetual vigilance has brought both focus and concrete resources to this chronically underserved and largely unrecognized population of victimized youth. Nola’s approach aims to be holistic!
This TWO-DAY LONG course meets the qualifications for (11) BBS CEUs for LCSWs and MFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
