Strategies to Foster Emotional Intelligence with System-Involved Youth

Training Description

Trauma can negatively impact the emotional and social development of youth. So, it's important for those working with system-involved youth to understand how trauma impacts emotional and social development as well as learn strategies to help foster emotional intelligence. The training will focus on enhancing youth self-awareness, self-regulation, and empathy, while preventing provider compassion fatigue through active compassionate care techniques.

Learning Objectives

• Participants will be able to describe at least one component of emotional intelligence to system-involved youth and young adults.

• Participants will be able to identify and implement at least one strategy to foster emotional intelligence related to social awareness among system-involved youth and young adults.
