Training Description
Unfortunately, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue are common in the social services and behavioral health fields. When individuals don't address vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue, it can lead to burnout, premature departure from an organization, and ultimately can negatively affect service delivery to system-involved youth and families. It is crucial for service providers to recognize these warning signs and be equipped with strategies to address them. This training will provide an overview of vicarious trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue. We will discuss strategies to mitigate these by creating well-being plans to be more resilient and compassionate. It’s essential for service providers to prioritize their well-being so they can be better positioned to deliver consistent trauma-informed services that support positive outcomes for system-involved youth and families.
