Training Description
This training supports caregivers and service/support providers working with system-involved youth in understanding how trauma continues to shape youth behavior, emotions, relationships, and identity long after the traumatic events have occurred. Participants will explore how trauma impacts brain development, attachment, emotional regulation, and behavior, and how caregivers can serve as critical agents of healing.
Through a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework, attendees will learn practical strategies for responding to trauma-related behaviors, supporting emotional safety, and fostering resilience. The training emphasizes caregiver self-awareness, regulation, and collaboration across systems to promote stability, reduce placement disruptions, and improve long-term outcomes for system-involved youth navigating life after trauma.
