Training Description
The intention of this training is to explore the challenges of creating and maintaining work-life balance when working remotely due to COVID-19. While electing to periodically work from home may feel enjoyable and novel, being required to do so, especially when you have children, make it twice as challenging. How to manage the stress associated with this will be focused on.
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn:
- How to create more of a balance between work, personal life, and rest
- How to create more intentionality in your workspace at home to help improve focus and delineate work from personal life
- How to involve the whole family in developing a routine
- How to create awareness practices to assist with stress reduction
Agenda
9:00AM-9:10AM
Time will be allotted for all participants to join and “sign-in”
Overview of the agenda
Review of training goals and objectives
Opportunity for participants to share why they chose to attend this training and identify anything they would like to be covered that may not be in the agenda or would like to go more into detail about.
9:10AM-10:45AM
Poll the participants to assess their current level of stress
Discussing the novelty of working from home under different circumstances compared to needing to do so unexpectedly including the perks and the challenges of working remotely
Examining the stress associated with feeling unprepared to work remotely
Examining potential relationship stress with shared responsibilities and sharing space
Review 3 important tips for working from home including: Have routines and rituals; Set good boundaries; Maintain social connection despite COVID-related restrictions in a safe way
Adjusting expectations especially in light of uncertainty
10:45AM-11:00AM
Opportunities for final questions
Review of training objectives and assuring they have been met
Discussion of how participants will utilize what they learned in their day to day work
Complete evaluations
11:00AM: ADJOURNMENT – Participants Sign-Out
