Training Description
This training is designed to help those who support youth who are system-involved or at high risk of system-involvement expand their coping skills toolbox for self-harm urges and behaviors. We will begin by reviewing distress tolerance skills, including when they are most effective to apply and how they can help support youth who are system-involved or at high risk of system-involvement in using these skills effectively. We will also briefly review the chain analysis skill, which is a key behavioral tool designed to help others who support youth who are system-involved or at high risk of system-involvement better understand ineffective youth behavior and provide targeted coaching support around more effective skills. Skills will be modeled and practiced throughout to promote retention.
