Training Description

Hope is not wishful thinking, nor is it a passive state. Hope is active and system-involved youth (SIY), families, and caregivers can learn skills to help them develop a mindset that lets hope evolve as a strength-based approach to adapting to loss. This training offers education, strategies, and an assessment tool to help SIY, families, and caregivers to learn how to alter what they hope for after loss rather than giving up hope. Participants will be informed through presenter instruction, a slide presentation, explanation of assessment tool and supportive strategies, breakout room conversations, guided discussion, and Questions & Answers.

Participants will be able to:

·         Explain 3 interrelated cognitions for hope to evolve;
