Training Description

This training provides service/support providers of system-involved youth  with comprehensive knowledge and practical strategies for supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS, with a focus on youth and young adults impacted by systems such as foster care and juvenile justice. Participants will explore the medical, psychological, and social dimensions of HIV/AIDS, including risk factors, trauma, and stigma disproportionately affecting system-involved youth. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and California-specific legal and ethical guidance, attendees will strengthen their capacity to provide trauma-informed care. This training equips participants to better support the health and well-being of foster and system-involved youth at elevated risk for HIV exposure and barriers to treatment access.
