Training Description
This training will offer foundational practices to connect with the land, body, elements, and breath derived from Indigenous, Buddhist, and Taoist traditions including qigong, mindful awareness, pranayama, and psychological tools for well-being. Using and teaching these techniques regularly within efforts to support system-involved youth can increase day-to-day resiliency, as well as enhance capacity to cope with challenges that arise. These strategies can also help those who support system-involved youth to prevent and/or manage vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue.
Learning Objectives
Explain information from three research studies supporting somatic and psychological practices for well-being.
