Training Description
This interactive training program provides those who support system-involved youth with a comprehensive understanding of holistic trauma healing approaches and evidence-based practices which promote positive outcomes for system-involved youth and families. Utilizing the Holistic Trauma Healing Deck, participants will learn how to support the complex needs of foster youth and families and promote holistic healing and resilience in the face of trauma. Participants will explore expressive arts therapy, nature healing, somatic approaches, mindfulness, and parts work, incorporating safety and grounding techniques, emotional regulation, self-compassion, and creative expression for holistic trauma healing. Through a combination of presentations, discussions, and experiential exercises, participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to facilitate holistic trauma-informed care and support.
Learning Objectives
· Identify at least 2 ways to utilize the Holistic Trauma Healing Card Deck and Journal which prepare system-involved youth and families for trauma healing and create a supportive environment that fosters growth and recovery.
· Acquire 5 trauma-informed tools and practices which promote safety and grounding, emotional regulation, self-awareness, creativity and self-expression within efforts to support system-involved youth and families as a means of promoting healing and resilience.
· Identify at least 2 circumstances when application of the tools and practices from the Holistic Trauma Healing Card Deck could foster interpersonal skills and self-awareness.

Meet Our Trainer
Angela Luna (Luna) brings over 20 years of experience to her role as a holistic trauma therapist, trainer, and educator. She holds an M.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy from CIIS and a J.D. from UC Davis. Luna is passionate about empowering people to heal from trauma, tap into their inherent strengths, and live the life their hearts and souls yearn for. She is the author and creator of the Holistic Trauma Healing Card Deck and Journal, and provides trainings and speaking engagements on the topic of holistic trauma healing and the creative arts in healing. Her journey has taken her through various roles in management, supervision, training, and clinical practice in settings such as The Alameda County Trauma Recovery Center and Contra Costa's hospitals and schools. Today, she is deeply engaged in her own private practice, where she enjoys activities such as spending time with her dog, nature, creating beauty, and sharing moments with her husband.
This course meets the qualifications for (4.75) BBS CE hours for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
