Training Description
This training aims to give participants who support system-involved youth (SIY) an introduction to the topic of healing from racial trauma. Racial trauma is defined within the context of the history of this country with an emphasis on the impact of trauma on the body and healing within community. Strategies and research will be provided to support working with racial trauma within efforts to support SIY, given our different identities. These strategies can be taught to SIY and are also useful for providers who are experiencing vicarious trauma and/or compassion fatigue.
