Training Description
In this training, participants will explore the concept of moral injury and learn about its impact on individuals and communities, especially system-involved youth and those in supporting and caregiving roles for them. The training will emphasize compassionate and social justice approaches to addressing moral injury, including collective ethics and care principles. Attendees will learn practical strategies for fostering resilience and healing, ensuring support systems are grounded in empathy and equity. Through interactive sessions and real-world applications, the training aims to equip participants with the tools to effectively recognize, address and mitigate moral injury, promoting holistic well-being and ethical practices within effort to support system-involved youth and families.
Learning Objectives
· Participants will be able to accurately identify and explain at least 2 characteristics of moral injury.
· Participants will acquire and be able to apply at least three social justice principles and compassionate care strategies to address moral injury.
· Attendees will be able to build individualized resilience and healing plans.

Residing on the ancestral lands of the Doeg and Piscataway Peoples in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC, Anisa Christine Mustafa (they/she) shares their home with two cherished cats. As a leader, mentor, trainer, advocate, speaker and entrepreneur, Anisa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to their community. Anisa's unique blend of ethnicity, culture and language shapes their worldview, fostering a profound sense of openness, curiosity and flexibility toward all perspectives and pathways. They are a dedicated professional committed to fostering resilience and healing by ensuring systems are grounded in empathy and equity. Their training sessions are designed to be highly interactive, utilizing real-world applications to equip participants with the necessary tools to operate effectively within their roles.
Rachel Weiss has over 20 years of experience in behavioral health program development, project management, supervision, training, and implementation. Rachel has a track record of skillfully connecting assignments to the tools, resources, and individuals needed to achieve project and organization goals. Rachel has been instrumental in the development, implementation and assessment of multi-approach behavioral health projects from on-the ground, in-person trainings to international webinars and online trainings and discussions. Rachel is committed to current and emerging practices in person-centered behavioral health and has the ability to work one-on-one with an in-house team or as part of a cross-disciplinary, cross-organization group tasked with a complex, highly nuanced project.

This course meets the qualifications for (4.75) BBS CE hours for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
