Training Description
This 3-hour training equips service and support providers with the knowledge and skills to support the emotional development of system-involved youth through the application of emotional intelligence (EI). Participants will explore how trauma, cultural identity, and systemic involvement (e.g., foster care, juvenile justice, behavioral health systems) impact emotional awareness, regulation, and expression.
The training integrates bilingual language (Spanish/English) strategies to enhance engagement, collaborative partnership, and service accessibility for Spanish-speaking youth and families. Participants will learn practical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive strategies that promote emotional literacy, co-regulation, and resilience in system-involved youth.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to apply at least three trauma-informed strategies to support emotional regulation in system-involved youth.
