Training Description

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques are frequently used to help individuals with a wide range of mental health symptoms. In recent years there has been a growing acknowledgement of how they can assist individuals who use substances. In this training we will discuss how to apply emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness skills when working with system-involved youth who use substances.


Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to teach at least 1 mindfulness strategy to system-involved youth who use substances.

  • Participants will be able to teach at least 1 emotional regulation strategy to system-involved youth who use substances.
