Training Description
This interactive skills-based training equips service and support providers working with foster and system-involved youth with practical anger management and conflict resolution tools grounded in trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches. Participants will explore how trauma, emotional dysregulation, and environmental stressors influence youth behavior, and learn structured techniques to de-escalate conflict and teach emotional regulation. Through case scenarios, modeling, and applied skill practice, attendees gain strategies that can be immediately integrated into school, residential, community, and behavioral health settings. The training emphasizes relationship-based engagement, cultural responsiveness, and skill-building that promotes system-involved youth safety, self-control, and positive peer interactions.
Learning Objectives
Identify at least 5 trauma-related triggers that commonly contribute to anger escalation in system-involved youth.
Acquiree 4 evidence-based de-escalation techniques that reduce emotional intensity during youth conflict situations.
