Training Description
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for system involved youth. It's crucial for those who support system involved youth to learn how to identify the potential for suicide, know what to do if a youth endorses suicidal ideation, and how to foster protective factors. The training will also touch on helping system involved youth grieve friends and family lost to suicide.
Learning Objectives
1. Participants will be to identify at least 1 risk factor for suicide.
2. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 protective factor for system involved youth contemplating suicide.
3. Participants will be able to have conversations with system involved youth about suicide.

Meet Our Trainer
Nicole Klasey is a clinical psychologist who has worked with trauma survivors for 14 years. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited youth, vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and provides guest lectures at local universities on human trafficking.
Jessika Fuhrmaneck is a writer and public speaker who has been a dedicated advocate for the support and recovery of persons who have been exploited in the commercial sex trade and experienced trauma. She uses her lived experience to help train organizations across the country to advise and assist in developing trauma- informed programs and practices for working with trauma survivors. She has trained multidisiciniplinary audiences throughout California on trauma and commercial sexual exploitationÂ
This course meets the qualifications for 3.75 BBS CE hours for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
