Training Description
Families across the country have been impacted by the opioid epidemic. This training will provide an overview of the epidemic and its impact on system involved youth and families. Participants will learn how to effectively support system involved youth or caregivers who use opioids and/or have been impacted by the opioid use of other natural support people in their lives.
Learning Objectives
1. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 preventative strategy to review with system involved youth or their caregivers to protect them from the dangers of opioids
2. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 contributing factor of the opioid epidemic
3. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 strategy to engage system involved youth, their caregivers, our natural support people in their lives who are using opioids

Meet Our Trainers
Nicole Klasey is a clinical psychologist who has worked with trauma survivors for 14 years. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited youth, vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and provides guest lectures at local universities on human trafficking.
This course meets the qualifications for (2.75) BBS CEUs for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
