Training Description
This training will teach participants how social-emotional learning (SEL) involves the core competencies for understanding ourselves, others, and navigating our relationships and experiences in the world which is crucial to understand when supporting system involved youth who have often experienced multiple, complex traumas which can inhibit SEL. We will examine our own social-emotional capacities and areas of growth and determine how our identities impact how we view ourselves and interact with others, as well as shape our values and efforts to improve outcomes for system involved youth.
Learning Objectives
Explore the concept of culturally responsive mindsets;
Examine their own social-emotional capacities and areas of growth which may be impacting their ability to most effectively serve system involved youth; and
