Training Description

Boundaries are an essential part of working with traumatized system involved youth and families, yet they can be difficult to implement. Some people can struggle to implement healthy boundaries due to their own trauma histories, not wanting to offend others, etc. This training will discuss healthy boundaries, barriers to implementing them, and strategies for implementing and maintaining them.

· Participants will be able to identify at least one strategy for talking with system involved youth about boundaries.

· Participants will be able to identify one strategy for implementing boundaries.

Meet Our Trainer

Nicole Klasey is a clinical psychologist who has worked with trauma survivors for 14 years. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited youth, vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and provides guest lectures at local universities on human trafficking.

Jeff Kelly has worked with at-risk youth and transitional age youth for a number of years. After his career in the NFL and coaching at the college level, he was a supervisor at AmeriCorp where he helped prepare transitional age youth for the workforce. He has also trained high students and mentored young adults.  Jeff is also actively involved in nonprofits working with at-risk youth

This course meets the qualifications for (3.75) BBS CE hours for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
