Training Description
System-involved youth may externalize their distress and engage in risky behaviors. So, it is imperative for those who support them to learn how to navigate crises with high risk populations. The training will help training participants understand the function of risk behaviors, useful harm reduction strategies, and how to create a safety plan with system involved youth engaging in risky behaviors.

1. Identify at least 1 harm reduction strategy which can be used with system-involved youth engaging in high-risk behaviors
2. Identify at least one safety strategy for system-involved youth engaging in risk behaviors
3. Identify at least one way to support system-involved youth in crisis.

Meet Our Trainer
Nicole Klasey is a clinical psychologist who has worked with trauma survivors for 14 years. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited youth, vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and provides guest lectures at local universities on human trafficking.
This course meets the qualifications for 2.75 BBS CE hours for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Fred Finch Youth Center, CAMFT Provider #045295.
