Training Description

Given the patterns of trauma including childhood sexual abuse that system-involved youth (SIY) experience, it is crucial for those who serve and support SIY to have a comprehensive understanding of childhood sexual abuse and its impacts. Understanding the areas of a youth’s life that may be impacted by childhood sexual abuse is important to consider for services and support planning. SIY who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse can be triggered because of the trauma they have suffered, and understanding this is key for supporting them with compassionate care.

Learning Objectives

·         Participants will be able to identify at least 2 types of childhood sexual abuse.

·         Participants will be able to identify at least 2 ways that childhood sexual abuse can impact the behavior of system-involved youth.
