Training Description

This training equips support/service providers that work system-involved youth (SIY) with trauma-informed strategies grounded in the principles of Understanding Trauma and Stress, Safety and Stability, Compassion and Dependability, Collaboration and Empowerment, and Resilience and Recovery. Participants will learn how trauma impacts the brain and practical techniques such as trauma-responsive communication, memory and clarity supports, co-regulation skills, and developmentally appropriate strategies for supporting SIY ages 0–25. Through experiential activities and case-based learning, the training enhances participants’ ability to create stable and healing-centered environments. Attending this training strengthens support/service providers capacity to reduce escalation, improve engagement, and support positive outcomes for foster and system-involved youth.
