Training Description

One of the most significant challenges for those supporting system-involved youth who are using cannabis in unhealthy ways or as self-medication for complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) is to effectively engage them in building rewarding, constructive, and transformative behaviors that are sustainable and lead to healthy community engagement and successful outcomes in life, academics, and career. 


In this interactive training, we will explore how to enhance our capacity to support system-involved youth (SIY) by examining and practicing Strengths-Based Engagement Practices (especially designed for substance using TAY youth) which can be used to facilitate their development towards a healthy and joyful life while they transition from youth to adulthood. These strategies will support us to quickly foster alliance with SIY to increase their resilience,  promote their emotional, mental, and physical well-being, and strengthen their ability to heal from traumatic events so they can enjoy a thriving mindset experience, and can more easily lead…
