Training Description

System-involved youth (SIY) are at an increased risk of being disproportionately pushed out of the public school system and funneled into the criminal justice system. This experience can affect youth’s educational stability and overall well-being. It is essential for those who support SIY to learn about this issue and develop strategies to advocate for youth and families in ways that promote positive outcomes.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to identify at least two factors that contribute to the school-to-prison pipeline and its impact on system-involved youth.

  • Participants will be able to identify at least three risk factors of involvement in the school-to-prison pipeline for system-involved youth.
