Training Description
This Human Sexuality training provides those who support system-involved youth with a comprehensive exploration of the physiological, psychological, and social factors that influence sexual development. Through a blend of didactic instruction, reflective exercises, and case studies participants will strengthen their competence in working with diverse youth. Special emphasis is placed on ethical practice, trauma-informed care, and affirming approaches that support the unique experiences of foster youth and system-involved youth. Attendees will leave with practical tools to assess and address sexuality-related issues in a way that promotes safety, dignity, and healing for the young people they serve.
Learning Objectives
Identify at least 5 physiological and psychological factors that influence sexual development across the lifespan of system-involved youth.
Explain the definitions and at least 2 distinctions between sexual orientation and gender.
