Training Description

This training will support participants in developing further tools and strategies to support system-involved youth who are experiencing crisis and distress. Participants will explore the ways that a behavior impacts behavior by reflecting on their own escalation curve and how it might impact young people’s escalation. Participants will practice de-escalation strategies together and work towards a deeper understanding of non-punitive and non-retaliatory strategies for use with system-involved youth to support improved outcomes.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify and explain at least 2 ways that their own responses and strategies impact the behavior of system-involved youth.
