Training Description
While there is a growing awareness about sexual abuse in regard to prevention and intervention, system-involved youth with disabilities are often left out of the conversation. This is problematic because system-involved youth with disabilities are at heightened risk for sexual abuse. This training will provide an overview of the prevalence of sexual abuse of system-involved youth with disabilities, risk factors, prevention, and strategies to support them.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to identify at least one risk factor for youth with disabilities to be sexually abused.
Participants will be able to identify at least one preventive strategy to protect disabled system-involved youth from abuse.
