About the Event

Rachel Michaelsen, LCSW

Training Description

Trauma impacts the nervous system by creating emotional dysregulation and behavioral challenges. In this training, caregivers and service providers working with system-involved youth will learn how to use techniques from the fields of energy medicine and energy psychology to support nervous system regulation and promote emotional well-being. These tools will help participants to regulate themselves and system-involved youth and teach them to use them in their daily life. The training will combine lecture-based learning and interactive small-group work.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain how the nervous system responds to stress and trauma by naming the part of the brain that is activated by threatening situations and identifying at least one related physiological response that may influence functioning in system-involved youth.
