Fred Finch Youth Center (FFYC) social media sites are intended to be safe and supportive spaces. We welcome and encourage open discussion on these sites (including but not limited to our blogs, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube pages and our own website), and we look forward to the comments, stories and experiences you want to share.

RESPONSES FROM FFYC – If you post a question to FFYC on this site, please be aware that we do not respond on a specified schedule, but rather on an “as available” basis.  If this is an emergency, please call 9-1-1. If you are seeking information about services available in Alameda County, please dial 2-1-1.  If you have a question about FFYC, please call us at 510-482-2244.

SEEKING ADVICE – Please remember that information posted on any of our social media platforms should NOT be considered medical or psychological advice, and should NOT replace a consultation with a health care professional.

RESPECTING YOURSELF AND OTHERS – We ask that you’re respectful in your posts, and we reserve the right to remove anything we deem to be inappropriate, including

  • Comments that violate the privacy of our participants and/or their families;
  • “Hate speech”, including, but not limited to racial, ethnic or gender bashing language;
  • Abusive or personal attacks;
  • Unlawful, untrue, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, slanderous, or embarrassing posts;
  • Third party advertising or promotion; and/or
  • Objectionable (as defined by FFYC management) content.

DELETING CONTENT – We make reasonable efforts to monitor participation to:

  1. Ensure that everyone abides by the rules, and to terminate involvement by users who violate them; and
  2. Delete posts that we feel are inappropriate.

RESPECTING YOURSELF AND OTHERS – Please be aware that once you post something online, there’s the potential for thousands of people to read your words (see your pictures, etc.), even years from now. As a result, we suggest that you exercise caution when posting information, and that you not disclose personal identifiable information like your name, phone number, email or mailing addresses, passwords, financial information, etc.

WHO MAY USE YOUR POSTS – By submitting content to any of FFYC’s social media sites, you understand and acknowledge that this information is available to the public, and that FFYC may use this information for internal and external promotional purposes and fundraising purposes. Please note that other users may use your posted information beyond the control of FFYC. If you do not wish to have the information you have made available via this site used, published, copied and/or reprinted, please do not post on this page.
