San Mateo County In-Home Stabilization is an in-home/on-site mental health solution providing family therapy, case management, and psycho-education.
The program offers family therapy, case management, and psycho-education provided by mental health professionals and are customized according to youth and family needs. Services are provided in the home or convenient locations such as the Youth Services Center or Behavioral Health and Recovery Services clinic. Mental health therapists make an assessment, work with youth and families to develop a comprehensive treatment plan, and provide on-going reporting and case management. The goal of the program is to address the youth’s mental health needs, avoid the youth being placed in a group home, and the prevention future criminal behavior and recidivism/re-incarceration.
Youth ages 12 – 18 that have become involved in the San Mateo County Juvenile Justice System and may have been identified as in need of mental health services but are not a danger to themselves or others. Eligible participants have been previously incarcerated or are at imminent risk of group home placement and require in-home family stabilization services.
